Eurovision promotional tour - Belarus and Ukraine


Over the last few days, Kaliopi has continued her Eurovision promotional tour with visits to Belarus and Ukraine.  The Macedonian representative in the 2012 Eurovision Song Contest enjoyed a successful trip to Minsk and Kiev where she gave a number of interviews to national media.  Kaliopi sang her Eurovision song Crno i Belo (Black & White) at the most notable "World of talents - elite of the nation" humanitarian concert in Kiev in front of hundreds of people at Independence Square.


 
 
After visiting Serbia, Slovenia, Croatia, Amsterdam and London, Kaliopi's promotional tour moved east to Minsk the capita of Belarus for a two day visit. Kaliopi was given a warm welcome at the airport by the National Belarus TV (BTRC) where she gave an interview in German before moving on to a specially arranged press conference for Belarus media.  The highlight of her day was meeting the group LiteSound who are representing Belarus at Eurovision this year. 

Whilst appearing on the main Belarus morning show, Kaliopi was asked whether she would focus on her stage performance or her singing at the contest in Baku. Kaliopi said, 'during my performance I always give my full emotion to express the important message of the song.  I hope in the three short minutes I have to perform I can give my heart to the people, not only to the audience of 24,000 people in the auditorium in Baku, but also the 200 million people watching on TV.' She said that she hopes to record a Russian version of Crno i Belo very soon.

For the final leg of her Eurovision promotional tour Kaliopi travelled to Kiev in the Ukraine for a two day visit.  At her live performance at the humanitarian concert 'World of talents - elite of the nation', Kaliopi enjoyed an enthusiastic reception form the large crowd who especially enjoyed her Eurovision song. The next day was very busy for Kaliopi, with a number of interviews with Ukrainian media and a meeting with Gaitana, this year's Eurovision representative from the Ukraine. Kaliopi met Gaitana in Shevchenko Park in central Kiev.  It was a very warm first meeting between the two singers, who spent their time walking around the park and eating ice cream,  Kaliopi received a gift of traditional Ukrainian floral bonnet which she wore with great pride.

Kaliopi is now back in Macedonia focusing on her final perpetration for her stage performance before departing for Baku on the 13th May.
