Biography Romeo Grill


Romeo Grill was born in Skopje in 1961. He is a composer, songwriter, music arranger and producer. He starts his career at the end of the 70, enriching the night life in the capitol city. His songs are performed in many music festivals: „Opatija“, „Mesam“, „Skopje“, „Makfest“, „Split“, „Valandovo“: His music or lyrics have been performed by top singers like: Kaliopi, Blaga Petreska, Meri Cetinic, Maja Odzaklievska Zorica Kondza, Svetlana Slavkovic and many others.

For the group „Kaliopi“, and for Kaliopi as a solo artist has composed 10 singles and 3 albums. The album „Rogjeni“ is composed by Romeo, and for this album he composes: „Nebo mi sja“, „Kofer ljubavi“, „Rolls Royce boys“, „Rogjeni“, „Znam da te volim“.

With this album Romeo Grill wins the title Hitmaker, Evergreen composer and lyrics writer. His songs „Rodjeni (Bato)“ and „Kofer ljubavi“  are mega-hits even now 25 years after their inital airing througout ex-Yugoslavia.

The most important album for Kaliopi’s comeback „Oboi me“, was composed, produced and written by Romeo. The album was a big success and won an award for „Album of the Year“, and at the same time Kaliopi won the award „Best Performer. The songs: „Oboi me“ , „Ne placi“, „Daj da pijam“ , „Ne zaboravaj“ remain hits until today.

For Romeo Grill we know little, since he is a very private person and chooses not to give interviews, doesn’t have a Web-site, and from the start of his career until today, he composes, writes and produces under different pseudonyms or sells his author rights.

This year he made an exception out of respect for Macedonia, MRTV and Kaliopi and composed, produced and arranged the music for the Eurovision song „Black&White“.
